General handyman · Tooele, Utah

The list on your fridge, finally done.

Mounting, assembly, patching, trim, doors that stick, caulk that gave up. One licensed, insured pair of hands for the whole list — instead of five separate people who each want a minimum.

Licensed in Utah

Utah license #R101. A real credential you can verify, not a handshake.

Fully insured

Liability and workers’ comp coverage, so you’re protected on your property.

Owner does the work

Austin shows up. Nobody subcontracts your job out to someone you never met.

Up to a 2-hour reach

Tooele base, but I’ll travel two hours when the job makes sense.

The scope

What’s included

Small jobs are the point, not an inconvenience. The only thing I will be straight about is whether the drive makes sense for a fifteen-minute fix.

  • TV, shelf, mirror and curtain-rod mounting, into studs
  • Furniture assembly, flat-pack and otherwise
  • Drywall patches, nail pops, and small holes
  • Doors that stick, sag, or will not latch
  • New door hardware, deadbolts, and strike plates
  • Caulking and weather sealing around tubs, windows, and doors
  • Baseboard, casing, and trim repair or replacement
  • Blinds, shades, and window hardware
  • Closet rods, shelves, and hooks
  • Grab bar and handrail installation
  • Weatherstripping and door sweeps
  • Small demolition and haul-out for what is being replaced

Not sure whether your job fits the list? Describe it in the form anyway — if it is not something I should be doing, I will tell you who should.

Pricing

What a handyman job actually costs

There is no price list on this page, and that is deliberate. A number pulled out of the air is worse than no number, because it turns into a surprise later.

What I can tell you is what moves it. Send the whole list rather than the one job you are most annoyed about — one trip with six small things is a better deal for both of us than six trips.

What moves the number

  • How many separate tasks are on the list
  • Whether anything needs a second set of hands
  • Wall and ceiling height, and what is behind the drywall
  • Whether the parts are already on site
  • Drive time, if you are outside Tooele
  • Access: stairs, tight hallways, a garage a truck cannot get near

How the estimate works

Send the list through the form, with photos where you have them.

You get scope and pricing back, usually the same business day.

If it turns out to be a bigger job than the photos showed, I say so before I start — not after.

How it works

Three steps, no runaround

  1. Send the list

Type it into the form or photograph the sticky note. Photos of the wall or the parts save a round of questions.

  2. Get one price for the batch

Scope and pricing back in writing, usually the same business day.

  3. Pick a day

I show up with the tools, do the work, clean up, and leave a written invoice.

  • Up to 2 hours out — Summit County, Utah County, Provo / Orem

Small job, long drive?

Then the honest answer might be to wait and bundle it. I would rather tell you that than charge you two hours of travel for fifteen minutes of work — and I will still say yes if you want it done.

Questions

The ones people actually ask

Is there a minimum job size?

No published minimum, and small jobs are welcome. What I will be straight about is whether the drive makes sense for a fifteen-minute fix.

Do I need to buy the parts first?

Not necessarily. Describe the job and I will tell you what is needed before the visit, so you are not making three trips to the hardware store. If you already have the parts, even better.

What will you not take on?

Anything that legally needs a licensed electrician, plumber or roofer. I will tell you up front and point you at the right trade rather than experimenting inside your walls.

Do you work on rentals and small commercial spaces?

Yes — single-family homes, townhomes, condos, apartments and small commercial spaces. Say which it is so the estimate reflects it.

Do you clean up afterwards?

Yes. The job is not finished until the dust is. Debris goes with me.

Also available

Other work I take on

One contractor for the whole house. If the job needs two of these, it is still one visit and one invoice.
